Little Prince Part 2 - School Interview After mummy put Jamie into his velvet jacket and George into his white coat they set off to be interviewed for Jamies new school. Jamie was so excited to be going to a school where he would not be bullied for dressing in nice clothes. You see when he went to school at his old place he was always picked on for being what the other kids called a sissy. His dad was a mean drunk and would often argue with his mummy over the clothes she chose for Jamie and his brother. He tried to get them both to be macho and stop their ballet, gymnastics and other "girly" pursuits. So when mummy threw daddy out of the house and moved to Pleasantville he and his brother were so happy. Mummy was going to set up a shop making nice clothes for children. She was excellent at making clothes and made all the boys their clothes. It took 15 minutes to arrive at the brightly coloured school. They went through two big red doors and were greeted by a 10 year old boy dressed in a kilt, white frilled ankle socks, black mary-jane shoes, white lace blouse and a tie in the same tartan as his kilt. "Hello I am the school doorman how can I help you?" he said, Mummy asked to be taken to the principles office. The boy took them to the principle whilst Jamie and George admired the boys uniform. When they arrived at the office they were greeted by Miss Flowers the principle who said how much she admired Jamies outfit. The boy also said how cute he looked whilst he felt Jamies velvet jacket. After Miss Flowers dismissed the boy both mummy and Jamie were interviewed. They were told that Jamie and eventually George would be welcome at the school. They were then shown around the school. First they were shown the classroom Jamie would attend. When they entered the room all the boys stood up. All of them dressed in the same clothes seen on the boy doorman. jamie was introduced to the class to which all boys said "welcome Jamie, we hope you will like it here, have a nice day." Miss Flowers then took them to the dance hall to watch a ballet class in progress. The boys were dressed in pale blue leotards, white tights and white ballet slippers. They looked so graceful and when Miss Flowers clapped her hands and introduced Jamie to them each boy came over bowed and shook Jamie and his mummies hand and introduced themselves. Jamie loved all this attention. They then went to a sewing class where the boys were sewing new sailor suits for themselves. Finally they went to the schools indoor swimming pool. They say the older boys teaching the younger ones to swim. The older boys where dressed in one piece white cotton swim suits similar to victorian boys swim suits. The younger 5 year old boys learning to swim were all in blue swim diapers. After the school tour they said goodbye to Miss Flowers and headed to town to sort out uniforms for Jamie.
